On a recent visit to the Brockdale Park public boat ramp on Lavon Lake, I was fortunate to find two Sanderlings! These shorebirds are uncommon visitors to the North Texas area during spring and fall migration. Both birds are juveniles, as illustrated by the crisp black and white plumage.
